Our trainers are the secret of our success. They are all seasoned journalists, broadcasters and communications experts. Their experience comes from working with broadcasters such as Sky TV, BBC & ITN and newspapers ranging from The Sunday Times to The Sun. ROZ MORRIS

Broadcaster and Media Trainer & Managing Director of TV News London

Roz has many years’ experience as a broadcaster and media trainer.  She co-founded TV News London in 1992 and is an accredited trainer for the Independent Television Association. She has been a news reporter, newsreader and programme presenter for BBC TV, ITN, Thames TV, and Tyne Tees TV, where she was the first woman in the North East of England to be the regular presenter of the weekly political and business programme.  She also worked as a correspondent for BBC Scotland, based in Edinburgh, and for RTE (Irish national radio and TV) as a London Correspondent. She has been a reporter and presenter for LBC/IRN and BBC Radio News, a feature writer for the Evening Standard and a staff reporter and feature writer for The Observer and The Guardian, where she was the youngest reporter on both papers. As well as being a leading media trainer, she is currently a blogger for TV News London and the Huffington Post UK on media matters.

Malcolm douglas

Broadcast News & PR Expert and Media Trainer

Malcolm Douglas was until recently Senior Editor and Producer at ITV’s breakfast show Good Morning Britain. He is currently involved in the programme’s production on a consultancy basis.  He is a Director of TV News London and a broadcast news consultant.  He is the former Deputy Editor and Head of News at ITV Breakfast (GMTV). He started his career working with national and regional newspapers before moving into TV news. With his many years’ experience of running national and regional TV newsrooms including GMTV, TV-am, Thames News and Tyne Tees TV, Malcolm’s expertise is unusually broad, covering hard news, politics, consumer, lifestyle and showbiz. He advises major companies, global charities and PR organisations how to get the best coverage on television and radio and how best to respond to the media in times of crisis.

Roddy mcdougall

Media Trainer and Video Producer

Roddy is an expert media trainer with 15 years experience of working with top corporates enabling senior spokespeople to handle TV and video interviews to the highest professional standards.  He has worked with Trinity Management Communications and for 10 years was Editor in Chief of Cantos, the online news service for business leaders, both part of Brunswick Group.  He was a senior TV news producer for 10 years working with ITN, and with breakfast TV stations GMTV and TVam.

Glen Oglaza

Award Winning Senior Reporter, Broadcaster and Media Trainer

Glen has more than 25 years experience as a senior reporter and correspondent for major news organisations. Until recently he was a Political Correspondent for Sky News where he covered 4 general elections.  Before that he worked for ITN where he worked in nearly 40 countries, including extended stints in Washington, Moscow and the Middle East, and two years in Glasgow as ITN Scotland Correspondent.  He won Royal Television Society awards for his reports on the fall of the Berlin Wall, The plight of the Kurds in the wake of the First Gulf War, and the Dunblane school shooting. He was BAFTA-nominated for London Poll Tax riot coverage.  He started his career in journalism as a reporter/newsreader/presenter in local radio in Newcastle upon Tyne and at IRN/Capital Radio in London. 

He has extensive media training experience working with many blue chip companies and organisations.

Award Winning Broadcaster and Trainer

A broadcaster for more than 20 years, Kati is a regular on BBC Radio 4. In recent years she has reported for Radio 4 programmes such as The World Tonight from South Sudan, Mali, Liberia, Kosovo and Ethiopia. Recent programmes include documentaries about the future of the Euro, McCarthyism and the spiritual challenges of mental health and alzheimers. She has won numerous awards including a Sony shortlist and One World Radio Award for her documentary on Rwandan widows. She was formerly a TV reporter for BBC Breakfast, Channel Four News and The Medical Channel, and she won the Silver Award for her work as presenter of BBC Radio 4’s disabilities programme, ‘Does He Take Sugar?’ . She works as a freelance broadcaster and as a media and presentation trainer.

Experienced Radio Presenter and Media Trainer

Jon presents news and sports programmes and bulletins for BBC Three Counties Radio and other BBC and commercial radio stations.  He has interviewed prominent politicians, campaigners and celebrities for over two decades. For several years he was a presenter of live news and talk programmes for London’s LBC and a newsreader for Independent Radio News and Classic FM.  He has presented and produced major current affairs programmes for the BBC throughout the UK, was Head of Presentation for a London commercial radio station and a communications consultant for a major charity. In 2014 one of his radio programmes was nominated for the prestigious Sandford St Martin Trust Award. He has extensive experience as a media trainer. He has also worked for BBC Radio Merseyside and BBC Wiltshire.

Print Journalist, Media Trainer and Presentation Trainer

Simon Brooke has 25 years’ experience in communications training and development. He works as a freelance journalist and as an editor writing for The Sunday Times, Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, The Times and the Daily Mail.   Simon has many years media and presentation training experience, having worked for a wide variety of blue chip clients, helping them develop and test their corporate messages.

Media Trainer, Multimedia Broadcaster and Video Journalist

Victoria has more than 20 years’ experience as a TV, radio, and digital journalist. She works as a reporter for Channel 5 News, ITV London and British Forces TV and is a self-shooting camerawoman who edits her own work. A former radio and TV presenter, she knows about studio work, live interviews and thinking on her feet.  As a reporter, she has interviewed several Prime Ministers and has filed stories from a range of locations including military helicopters and warships.  Her voice has been heard on radio stations across the BBC and commercial sector, and she spent a year as a newsreader and presenter for Classic FM.  A former radio news editor, she has produced BBC radio shows for Vanessa Feltz and Jeremy Vine. Victoria trained as a newspaper reporter and writes for the Times and Telegraph. She speaks fluent Italian and has just finished her second novel.

Media Relations Specialist/Jounalist/Expert on Writing Skills

A journalist with more than 20 years’ experience at senior level and a former women’s magazine editor, Marina Gask is a specialist in media relations and writing skills. She has been Editor of Top Santé, More, Sugar and John Lewis Edition, and worked at Deputy Editor level at Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Look and SHE. As commissioning editor for a wide variety of publications over the years, she has a keen understanding of what it takes to get the press coverage you want. She has a wide range of training experience, including teaching journalism at Goldsmiths and London Metropolitan universities. Marina writes for a variety of consumer magazines, including Prima, Red and Marie-Claire, B2B titles, such as Director Magazine, and dailies including the Telegraph and the Mirror. She is also a guest speaker and coaches entrepreneurs wishing to raise their media profile.

Senior Training Consultant For TV News London - Middle East Specialist

Henry has worked for some of the biggest UK broadcasters. He was the Foreign Editor of the UK’s first commercial Breakfast TV programme TV-am; a key figure in the launch team of the succeeding breakfast TV programme GMTV; Managing Editor at the international news agency Reuters and Senior Manager at ITN Consulting, specialising in programme launches and media training in the Middle East. He was responsible for the launch of the first Arabic-speaking live breakfast programme on Saudi TV, Sabah Saudia – training staff and developing programme content and production for seven months in Riyadh between 2009/2010. He has created new programme formats for Saudi TV morning, evening news and magazine programmes and organised a major training course for the 24-hour Al Ekhbariya news channel. Most recently he was responsible for running training courses in London and Muscat for staff at Oman State Television.

She also runs client events for organisations looking to engage with their female clients and prospects in a differentiated and memorable way. Prior to running her own company, Joanna worked in marketing and consultancy for almost ten years with blue-chip clients such as Mars, Diageo, Toshiba and SABMiller.

Presentation and Communications Expert and Founder of Funny Women

After training as a journalist, Lynne spent the first years of her career working in women’s magazines for publishing groups Nat Mags and IPC writing about fashion and beauty topics.  She next worked in public relations and marketing along with stints as a TV presenter for cable television channel, Living.  She set up her own PR consultancy and managed many successful promotional campaigns for well known brands including Asda, W H Smith, The Prince’s Trust, Thames Water, Hyundai Car UK, Pepe Jeans, Umbro, Nike, Avon, Almay, Innoxa and Yardley.  She is an expert presentation trainer providing training and coaching based on stand- up techniques to improve self confidence and presentation skills for professional executives.  She is the founder of Funny Women and the Funny Women Awards and she believes humour can help both men and women become more confident.

Abi Donald is an experienced management coach, recently working as Head of Coaching for the narrative agency Bladonmore.  She has 25 years’ experience in broadcast journalism, reaching the top of her profession through Reuters TV, ITN and GMTV. She has been the programme editor of News at Ten and the deputy editor of ITV’s flagship breakfast programme. While working in broadcast she coached and trained presenters, correspondents and reporters to deliver compelling content with credibility and authority. As a management coach Abi has helped senior executives deliver their agenda with confidence and clarity, preparing them for media interviews, presentations or key pitches. She is an accomplished story teller with a natural ear for language allied to a common sense approach to the performance skills of body language and voice control.
