TV News London Social Media Training Features in The Barber Magazine

Do you know how to handle your social media to best promote your business?

TV News London’s Managing Director, Roz Morris, provides advice on how to present yourself professionally on social media in The Barber magazine in a featured article about how small businesses can use video marketing to promote their business.

Roz points out that it’s never been easier for service businesses like barbers to showcase themselves online.

‘There’s no doubt that putting videos on YouTube and Instagram boosts business, ‘ Roz writes. ‘Have a look on Instagram and Twitter and you’ll see that posting videos gets you a higher response than only posting stills. Stills are useful in maintaining your presence on Instagram, or Twitter, but posting videos enables you to showcase your salon and your services even more effectively.

‘Businesses that have a profitable following use Instagram, Twitter and YouTube as powerful marketing tools to share and engage with customers.  You can share product launches, offers, event footage, video blogs and customer footage in your stills and videos. You can talk to your customers directly and build up your reputation as an expert. This can include uploading video tutorials or short video tips on frequently asked questions, as well as linking to new product videos.

‘However’ she continues ‘you’re right if you think that it’s not as easy as it looks to make professional-looking videos.’

Here are the 5 most common mistakes people make when they film themselves on their phones to promote their businesses:

  • Poor lighting – often standing in shadow by a window
  • Poor sound
  • Getting their eyeline wrong
  • Talking too fast
  • Looking worried and forgetting to smile

These are just a few of the many variables that can go wrong when you make your own videos so that’s why TV News London provides professional advice and training workshops to help businesspeople like barbers and other small businesses to make the most of the huge marketing opportunities now offered by social media.
